Joining UKPA is straightforward. Create an account on the UKPA Member Portal, register your details (or your child's details if joining as a guardian), and purchase your membership. Payment is handled securely online.

Enter your personal details, date of birth, and contact information. Guardians can add child members at this stage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to own a horse to join?

No. You can join UKPA as a member and arrange to borrow or loan a horse from your club for events. Many clubs have horses available for newer members.

Can children join?

Yes. Junior membership is available for riders under 18. A parent or guardian must register on their behalf and provide consent through the member portal.

When does membership run from?

UKPA membership runs on a calendar year basis (1 January to 31 December). Membership purchased part-way through the year is valid until 31 December of that year.

I'm an official or volunteer — do I need to be a member?

Officials and volunteers who hold formal UKPA roles (such as umpires or committee members) may be eligible for complimentary membership. Contact your club or UKPA for details.

Can I join mid-season?

Yes. You can join at any time. Your membership will run to 31 December of the current year.
